The Bulgarian Artists Union was founded in 1960’s. Its first chairman was the great Bulgarian artist Petko Zadgorski. The exhibition gallery of the Company is in the centre of Burgas and it shows throughout the year works of artists, sculptors and photographers from Burgas, from around the country and abroad.
There are two events in the Union’s calendar which you shouldn’t miss because this is the only place you can attend them. On 24 May – the Day of Bulgarian Script and Culture and on 6 December – the Day of Burgas, the exhibition gallery of BAC annually presents the best works of art of contemporary Burgas artists. The awards for “Young artist” and “Artist of the year” are awarded during these two events.
